Explore Seattle’s Best Breweries with Our Light Rail Guide!

Roosevelt

Roosevelt is a bustling little neighborhood in northern Seattle, near Green Lake, a lake that’s anything but green. It has a Whole Foods market, so reads quite high on the Gentrification Meter. That said, it’s where people get off buses and dash to the light rails, so can’t be all bad.

Triple R Brewing (Tripel R – surely?) appears to buck the trend in Washington State that all beers must be an IPA and all IPAs must make your buttocks pucker. Nestled in an overgrown shed, the brewery answers the question – “What if I let ma mates hang around me shed”. 3R is located SW of the station. Just nip west along the thought provoking NE 65th St, passing Roosevelt Way NE, and then left down the dodgy looking alleyway. (If the dumpsters are freaking you out – then you’ve gone the right way)

Jellyfish has its brewery in Georgetown, south Seattle, but you can visit their Taproom, which is just a quick 15 minute jaunt from the station in a westerly direction. Nestled on the shores of Green Lake – ok, not quite, but certainly close, you can see the lake from the taproom. They have a varied beer list, that incorporated questionable words like ‘dank’, ‘marmalade’ and ‘mouthfeel’ (Eeek) – but the absolute kicker in the mouthfeel is the word ‘kiddo’ on their website – drink at your own peril.
