MountlakeTerrace

Mountlake Terrace is a small city north of Seattle. The beer lies to the east of the station and is a short walk along the lovingly named 236th Street SW, passing cute little bungalows that you can’t help thinking will soon be replaced by more carbon copy apartments. Hemlock beckons on the right as you reach the inspirationally named 56th Ave W. After Hemlocking, you can cruise north to Diamond Knot.

Hemlock

Hemlock has a slightly sanitized industrial feel to it, probably because it’s in a clean and shiny and new building that houses the gleaming kettles and the clean and exposed interior. It has a smattering of pun-bunctiously named beers that leave you hazed and amused and make you opt for a flight.

Diamond Knot

Diamond Knot Brewpub @ MLT is a larger brewpub, that has a large selection of beers (~14) and an even larger selection of food of the US pub fare variety.

Beers with personality:

SunSlayer Pilsner – This crisp, golden American lager is basically the liquid embodiment of sunglasses, a beach chair, and an unshakable belief that summer lasts forever.
SAINTS IPA – If hops had a fan club, this beer would be the treasurer. Azacca and Citra bring an explosion of tropical, citrus, and pineapple flavors—like a Tiki party in a pint glass. Please leave your Tiki torch at home.
Dry Irish-style Stout – A nitro pour, giving you that smooth-as-silk, creamy experience. It’s so good, even leprechauns would trade their green hat for a pint.
American Barleywine – Aged over a year and coming in at a respectable 11% ABV, this one’s not just a beer—it’s a commitment.
